Community participation and gender balanced sharing of benefits being its policy the project aims to achieve the key strategies set in line with the inputs, outputs and activities are to:
motivate and mobilize the target group members into GMPF Village groups and Centres,
encourage participation of women in livestock rearing activities and sensitize the VGMs about the importance of gender rights and issues;
promote supplementary income opportunities and savings habit of VGMs by increasing the nutrition of VGMs;
train frontline field staff of GMPF on livestock management and credit activities and to use them as trainers for training of VGMs;
transfer know-how of livestock rearing to the VGMs to promote their skill on livestock and dairy production and other associate services such as marketing, processing, storage etc. and thereby increase the numbers of livestock owned by VGMs;
ensure services and supplies on cost recovery basis for livestock, poultry etc.
ensure better prices for the project produces like milk, meat, eggs etc.
involve the VGMs and community members in the process of milk collection, processing and marketing thereby generating rural job opportunities.
