THE PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the project are to contribute to national efforts for poverty alleviation by providing a model for sustainable rural development opportunities for poor men and women of the area. It has two objectives (1) Development Objectives and (2) Immediate Objectives
  5.1 Development Objectives; which
 
  reduces the incidence of poverty;
  enhances development opportunities for women;
  improves household food security and nutrition;
  sustainably increase family income;
  is consistent with safeguarding the environment by promoting integrated farming system.
  5.2 Immediate Objectives
 
For achieving the above noted long term development objectives, the immediate objectives are:
  to strengthen GMF capacity to provide beneficiaries with the skills, services and training for improved nutrition and earnings from profitable livestock and dairy production;
  to build the capacity of the Village Groups to operate and manage micro-credit and profitable livestock investment schemes on self-reliant and sustainable basis;
  to promote community enterprises in partnership with GMF for efficient processing and marketing of quality livestock products and animal feeds.
